Thanks for your sweet sentiments about Monday’s post.
I know its ridiculous, I just felt heavy the entire day. But… we’re back in the swing of things and I’ve got another sofa to discuss. No chewing involved.
When we moved the new sectional to our family room, we had to take out the old dark sofa.
Where to go with it?
We already have a couch in the basement, and without ample space in our cozy colonial cottage, there was nowhere else to go but the ‘front room’… the sitting space adjoining our dining room… which, with the addition of the old sofa, now becomes the reading room. No phones, no televisions, no distraction. Just a comfortable space to read a book.
The wall behind the couch desperately needed art; thankfully I found a piece at a local furniture boutique’s warehouse sale! Heavy & traditional, but just the right feeling I want for this space (bonus: the dark frame compliments the huge mirror hanging behind the dining room). Despite the light, airy spaces seen all over blogland… I want the rich look of a study for this area. More of a masculine room, if you will. I’m thinking a moody color for the walls and maybe crisp white molding under the chair rail…
I just need to get my act together pull the room together, rearrange floating wall art, and figure out exactly what wall treatment will work (and not break the bank!).
Any thoughts on wall color?
