Garage Space Reveal

I left you with a little sneak peek yesterday…

We decided to add a little GREEN to our immensely boring garage.  Bonus: plenty of storage too!  But first, let’s see where we started…

This is how our side wall has looked the past 4 years.  I’m ashamed.  And admittedly, our new storm door has been sitting there for a month.

The back and 3rd wall of our garage do not have drywall, very sad.  We’ve often just shoved stuff in and kept all our ‘important’ tools in a box.  Not convenient when you need a screwdriver a.s.a.p..  We {mostly me} were embarrassed whenever someone entered our garage, or needed to borrow something… “Uh, let us look for it first in our… box.”   Unnerving to reveal our inner sanctum of JUNK, but I feel better knowing we took action!

Peg board @ Lowes $4.67 per sheet
Valspar Avocado green spray paint $3.78

In no time at all, we had easy access to all our tools & a place for EVERTYTHING!
{confession: storm door is still on floor, but will be up by end of this weekend!}

We added this handy ball gadget, easy for kids with elastic bands in front {about $23 at Lowes} and a helmet rack.

This was an incredibly easy and inexpensive project… especially when you just put up the peg boards.  They sell peg hooks individually or in sets (sets run around $8-11 for 47 pieces).  I also love that it added a little pop of color to our ugly garage!

And as with any project, it gets the ball rolling to purge/clean/organize and further improve the space!  Read: the garage is not finished!

Happy Weekend!
