Stromboli-oli-oli

This is my foolproof, comfort food, fall on when all else fails recipe.
Straight out of my mother-in-law’s cookbook and always served on our table.  Who doesn’t love Stromboli?  And just when I think EVERYONE has their own version, someone will ask for the recipe (I use it for all my funeral, sick, had a baby, just because drop off meals).
So here is the Starr Stromboli… no fuss, just yum.

It is important to let the Stromboli set for 5 minutes, it won’t be so runny!

I must note… As I was putting this Stromboli together and taking pictures, I had to dash to a girlfriend’s house.  My amazing hubby took over (after many pleas from his wife) to capture the finished product!
And this how dinner is served when mama is gone… everybody wants the center pieces!

The sauce?
We skip the sauce to skip the calories… its good as is.  Promise.

Enjoy.
