Show Us Where You Live Friday... 4th of July Edition!

Simply cannot wait for the weekend: fireworks, boating, food... ah, sigh. I must say, I just love my country and I love living in the Midwest... full of small towns, cornfields, back doors, barns. But, oh so close to everything city. We simply could not enjoy this if it were not for our men and women that sacrifice daily to protect our great nation. In particular, I just want to thank my uncle for his lifelong service to our nation. We are so proud. Now onto the fun......
Since Kelly's Korner is having her Show Us Where You Live Friday "Garage & Yard" edition close to Independence Day... I thought it appropriate to celebrate with a little red, white and blue outside! Now if I could just keep my son from picking those flags out of my flower pots....
My husband belongs to our local Rotary chapter. They recently began such an amazing service for people in our town. You simply pay $25 per year, and they will come install a flag in your front lawn on certain holidays (like 4th of July, Memorial Day, Flag Day, etc) and then remove it for you. They have posted the flags for Independence Day and I think they look spectacular.... especially those downtown, just lining the streets! Only a few of us outside city limits have them. Hmm, this is not a great picture.

Finally, rather than showcase our too many trees, or the swing set... I thought I'd share our beloved back porch. Nothing remotely fancy, but it is truly our summer dining room. And a fantastic spot to sit in the evening... that's it!
