Show Us Where You Live Friday!

It's finally Friday (okay it's still Thursday night)...I am actually really excited for this week's edition of Kelly's Korner Show Us Where You Live Friday. Why you ask? (just ask and fain interest).... because it is home office week and I am currently in the process of remodeling our office. I need ideas! The room also serves as our guest room and I sadly posted the pathetic pictures a few weeks ago. Not much progress at this point, but I did buy a great paint color (Lowe's Valspar Signature Ivory Brown) and got some fabulous fabric @ unbelievable prices! The goal is to have the room completed by Father's Day... as a gift to my dear hubby. I want a masculine room that is soothing and comfortable. I must incorporate his existing golf 'artwork'... but I DO NOT want the typical green golf office.

I pulled a few things out of his office for inspiration... along with the fabrics I found (chambray, linen, and ticking stripe). I want a balance of cool & warm, very neutral room that isn't jarring... the investment industry is jarring enough on my guy.

This is the before room... what it doesn't show is the obnoxious eyesore basement window. How do I treat that?
